A free, Windows 64-bit media player.
Media Player Classic - Home Cinema is a lightweight media player that has been inspired by the original media player shipped with Windows in the past.
This media player for Windows has a bunch of codecs built-in for audio and video playback including the ability to play high definition audio streams with DTS and AC3 encoding.
MPC is suitable as an alternative to VLC Media Player, for example, and doesn't require additional codecs to be downloaded like many others do. It includes support for EVR (Enhanced Video Renderer).
Some of the bells and whistles included with MPC-HC are subtitle support, playing and recording live TV if a TV tuner is installed, On Screen Display, remote control and interaction with Android devices and Pixel share to convert BT601-BT701.
All in all, MPC-HC is an excellent entry into the world of media players for Windows.
